We are currently recruiting for an experienced groupage specialist to join our Part Load team based in Immingham. This opportunity will test your abilities, providing challenges to meet timed deadlines, whilst always delivering exceptional customer service. All culminating in achieving business targets on operational costs, whilst growing our part loads business.
Working Monday – Friday, with the occasional Saturday on a rota basis, you will be the first point of contact for existing and potential new customers to speak with. You will be responsible for the for the full customer experience, beginning with quoting, booking, planning, through to invoicing. We’ll need you to ensure that all customer orders are collected and returned to the warehouse using either our own fleet, across the DFDS network or third-party subcontractors. Once the cargo is in Immingham, you will be required to plan the delivery combinations overseas to Sweden, always achieving the best results for the customer and DFDS alike, whilst incorporating the requirements of our Swedish office.
For this role it is critical you have strong inter-personal skills, with a high level of written and verbal communication. You must have a flexible and adaptable mind-set that enjoys an ever-changing environment. It is vital you maintain very high levels of customer service to all our clients, including arranging collections, planning combinations, quoting, and taking spot bookings. We’ll need you to ensure customs procedures are followed for exporting cargo from the UK. Within the role you’ll be driving and developing our part loads in collaboration with our overseas DFDS offices and have a close relationship with our ferry department. You’ll need to maintain awareness of market developments, as well as further enhancing communication with customers, to keep costs low and service levels high.
We are looking for an outgoing and sociable character to join our team, maximising all opportunities, with our customers to fill our trailers as they go out on the road. Experience of the Swedish market is preferred, albeit training can be given. It is desirable that you have a minimum of 1-years shipping or logistics background.
