Senior Project Manager

DFDS is recruiting for a Senior Project Manager to lead a strategically important project to achieve greater scalability in its Ferry businesses. This role will be part of a Business Development & Strategy team that lead Ferry projects for Freight and Passenger.

Together with their peers and stakeholders the Senior Project Manager will put governance in place for a project that has been prioritized by the DFDS Executive Management Team to transform how DFDS runs its Ferry business from a Local for Local to a Global to Local model.

The key objective of this work will be to enable greater scalability in the DFDS Ferry business so that its highly successful model of local commercial autonomy can be continued, but with ever greater alignment of operational and commercial processes, to achieve greater economies of scale, enabling digitization, and support our journey to becoming a CO2 neutral transport company by 2050.

Standardization will be a key part of this journey and a number of standardization workstreams currently in progress will be brought into the scope of this project.

The Senior Project Manager will ensure that well defined scope, clear target outcomes, and achievable milestone plans are in place for all workstreams in the project. They will ensure clarity about what will happen when, what business process change is required, and what actions need to be taken to ensure value creation.

A key component of the role will be to drive collaboration across the various functional & route teams that make up Ferry at DFDS, using Agile techniques and data driven decision making to deliver positive outcomes for our customers, our teams, and DFDS. 

This is a very important, high profile, and broad remit project for DFDS so the Senior Project Manager will need to be a strong communicator capable of working with stakeholders of across DFDS (Executive team, Commercial teams, Operational teams, Technology & Innovation teams, Back-Office teams etc.).

They will manage the project using the Agile methodology employed by the Business Development & Strategy team that has proven successful at delivering positive outcomes at DFDS, and their scope will include identifying Change Management needs in the project and applying supporting methodologies to ensure positive adoption of the project’s outcomes.


Professional Experience:

  • You probably have a Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of relevant previous experience (Travel or Transport industry, Business Consultancy, or Digital Transformation)
  • You probably have at least 5 years professional experience driving change or executing projects
  • You are very comfortable working in English with knowledge of Danish being a bonus.
  • You have excellent communication skills both orally and in writing
