Automotive Compound Operative

Do you have a passion for Cars? Love to work in all weathers. Then we have the role for you. DFDS Immingham are looking for an Automotive Compound Operative to working Monday-Friday, Week 1 the hours will be 0700 – 1500 and Week 2 will be 1100 – 1900. This will receive a salary of £26,083.56.


You will be responsible for arriving and departing vehicles in DFDS Group Terminal Management Systems (GTMS), allocating terminal delivery lane information to third party car transport companies, and provide daily operational overview reports to Automotive Managers, Supervisors and Team Leaders. You will also provide administrative services and updates to automotive customers and appointed carriers as required.


Responding and actioning any problem vehicles rectifying issues such as flat tyres, flat batteries and fuel related issues so that vehicles can be processed and shipped without delay. Other duties will include accessing vehicles with door locking issues, carrying out minor repair works and cleaning DFDS Crew Buses, identifying vehicles from stock and carry out load building for onward distribution. You will also be responsible for checking and validating vehicle damage findings. Monitor weather conditions and carry out terminal / compound maintenance using specialist equipment, tractor driving, gritting, road sweeping, cleaning up oil spillages etc is also an important part of the role.

You will also plan all out hours compound deliveries and collections to name just some of the job requirements.
