Voice Integration Specialist

We are looking for a Voice Integration Specialist, that can ensure we tie legacy phone systems, Ship-telecommunication, Switchboard systems and Customer call centers into a Joint DFDS Communication standard, supporting a cloud first strategy.

As a Voice Integration Specialist, you’ll be a part of the IT Communication Team in DFDS’s Technology & Innovation Division, working with competent colleagues in an informal team culture, where every team member can influence their everyday work, and create value for DFDS.

This is a new position, where you have the chance to, in large terms, define your own role. There are fixed targets to achieve but different ways to get there, which makes room for creative thoughts and alternative thinking.

As Infrastructure and Communication platforms are used by almost all users in DFDS you’ll have exposure to all levels of the organization with constant interactions with customers and peers. We emphasize collaboration amongst our teams to ensure we are exceeding company expectations and department goals which makes every day an interesting day.

As our new Voice Integration Specialist, you are responsible for the design, purchase, build, installation, and support of Teams Voice network communications equipment and software voice components. Besides Teams, you will also be responsible for maintaining the existing Avaya Telephony platform, through a service partner, until Teams are fully rolled out, so one of the Targets is to minimize the existing Avaya Telephony platform.

This means you will be responsible for:

  • Rolling out Teams Voice in DFDS
  • Voice integration within Teams
  • Developing, improving, maintaining, and implementing the voice communications network infrastructure
  • Provide high-level support to your colleagues across DFDS in both critical situations and day-to-day operations putting requirement into reality
  • Maintain and update all hardware, software, tools, and peripherals associated with communication infrastructure while minimizing the hardware footprint in DFDS, in relation to telecommunication.
  • Coordinate and handle third-party, service partner and vendor activities.

Who are we looking for

A typically profile for this role would have proficient (approx. 3 years) experience in Teams Voice network principals and demonstrated proficiency within telecommunications.
You can have any combination of education and experience that would prepare you to perform the duties of the position.

Furthermore, we imagine that you have experience as a responsible for Switchboard/Callcenter set-up along with a seasoned knowledge with end-user devices used for Voice in Teams e.g. headphones, SIP/Analoqye Converters.

You have the ability to manage all phases of assigned goals/projects including design, implementation, communications, documentation and support.

Last but not least, you have excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills and are a self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
