M&A Manager

We are looking to strengthen the Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) team with a manager to support deal activity on the back of DFDS’ continued growth and strategic ambitions in our Copenhagen Office.


Originally established more than 150 years ago, DFDS is the result of numerous mergers and acquisitions. Today we are an active consolidator in our industry with M&A as a cornerstone of our strategy and a strong focus on growing through acquisitions. As our new colleague you will be part of a small team with a high degree of responsibility working directly with the two business divisions and executive management.


As our new M&A manager, you will be reporting to the Head of M&A. You will help drive M&A activities across the DFDS group by supporting the business with high-quality deal execution from idea origination to closing.

Main responsibilities of the M&A team include:

  • Analyzing potential acquisitions and preparing target profiles.
  • Building investment cases to qualify acquisitions.
  • Developing and maintaining financial models for valuation purposes.
  • Coordinating transaction processes and supporting due diligence exercises.
  • Preparing presentations to support executive and board-level decisions.
  • Standardizing internal processes by creating best-practice tools and templates.


The position requires a solid financial and analytical foundation, and therefore we expect that you have:  

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Proficiency in financial statement analysis.
  • Experience with financial modelling.
  • Experience in building presentations.
  • A clear communication style.
  • Fluency in English.


You should have at least two years of relevant experience from working in investment banking, corporate finance, or a similar setting. We expect you to have a university degree within economics, finance, or business with excellent results.

Personal qualities

The position requires you to have a well-developed analytical mindset and a structured approach to assignments. This includes the ability to ask the right questions and a healthy amount of criticism aimed at understanding the facts and figures you are presented with. You should have a high sense of responsibility and take ownership by proactively following through on the tasks you take on or are assigned to.

We are looking for a high-capacity individual with a strong work ethic and desire to succeed. It is important that you can maintain a high attention to detail despite a demanding schedule. You should be able to connect with people to effectively manage and influence stakeholders across functions and all seniority levels.
