The Role...A vacancy has arisen for a Trailer Fitter for DFDS Seaways PLC based in Felixstowe. Reporting into the Shift Leader of the Workshop you will ensure all maintenance and repairs are carried out in a professional manner for our fleet. A fork lift truck licence is essential and training will be provided on the requirements below. 

  • Carry our repair and maintenance tasks on trailers as required
  • ‘A’ services and MOT preparations
  • Carry out diagnostics using laptop
  • Attend roadside breakdowns in local area as required
  • Monitor and refuel reefers
  • Shunting trailers to/from quay
  • Trailer condition checks on quay or as requested by drivers
  • Warehouse cargo handling and manual handling and restow of cargo as required
  • Book out all stock used and fully complete paperwork needed for charging customers and paying suppliers
  • Keep updated in all departmental H&S procedures

Who we want...You will have a valid fork lift truck licence. It would be beneficial if you have worked in a similar role previously and have good team working skills. This role is a shift role over 5 days, however a flexible approach to your work is desired.
