Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

To take the lead on DFDS’ journey towards the cloud

 

In DFDS Group IT we are looking to appoint an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Engineer. Working as part of the Data Center Infrastructure Team this role will has the responsibility for helping DFDS’ journey towards the cloud. You will be located at the DFDS Headquarters in Copenhagen, working with colleagues both locally and around Europe. You will be working with technically skilled & talented employees, reporting to the Data Center Manager.

The DFDS Data Center team seeks to move the business further into the cloud and we are seeking an enabler that can take a lead on our cloud journey, helping your colleagues to identify and realize cloud initiatives. You will be in the Data Center Projects team, working on a mix of both Cloud and On-Premise infrastructure projects.

 

This is a new position within DFDS’ Data Center team, and there are no shoes to fill or tracks to follow - you will be the main initializer and driver!

 

Your role includes the following major responsibilities:

  • Initiating and enabling DFDS’ infrastructure cloud journey
  • Further developing DFDS cloud governance structure
  • Delivering Architectural design and roadmaps for cloud infrastructure
  • Working as the Technical Lead and member of cloud, on-premise and hybrid infrastructure projects
  • Creating and maintaining the technical knowledgebase and documentation
  • Providing technical support and mentoring to other members of the team

 

Expected background and skills

We expect you to have experience from Cloud infrastructure services (PAAS, SAAS and IAAS), as well as On-Premise infrastructure. You have a technical Wintel background and practical experience from operating within a technical department in a classic datacenter structure, on a medium to large enterprise infrastructure setup.

You are accustomed to working on projects and are good at communicating your ideas and motivating your colleagues. Moreover, you are passionate about software and hardware and motivated by technical challenges.

We expect you to have the following professional qualifications:

  • Experience with AD Federation Services, Azure Active Directory and AD Connect
  • Knowledge or experience with Amazon Web Services or other cloud vendors is an advantage
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows
  • Skilled in PowerShell scripting
  • Experience with VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V
  • ITILv3 Foundation certification is preferred

Your personality lets you build ties to colleagues in both Copenhagen and our other locations. You are good at keeping timetables for the projects you are involved in and you are good at communicating your ideas and motivating your colleagues. Moreover, you are passionate about software and hardware and motivated by technical challenges.

Given the profile of both our company and department, fluency in oral and written English is a must and if you also speak a Scandinavian language, it will be a great advantage.
