DFDS Legal & Insurance is looking to appoint a lawyer for a full time position
DFDS Legal & Insurance provides professional assistance and sparring for the DFDS Group across a wide range of business units and staff functions in all legal and insurance matters and advice on current and future projects. The legal work covers various areas, but the majority lies within international contract law, carriage of goods and passengers and M&A projects.
We strive to be close to the current business in a fast-paced and informal working environment. You will report to the general counsel of DFDS. The department consists of 6 employees in Copenhagen and 3 in Klaipeda, Lithuania.
You will be responsible for:
- Drafting of contracts in the English language
- Advising on contracts with customers and suppliers, including negotiations, and participation in tender offers
- Counseling on matters arising from the business in general, e.g. M & A, marketing issues, intellectual property rights, compliance matters, commercial law, corporate law, transport and tort law, and insurance issues
- Handling of pending court cases in cooperation with external lawyers
You hold a Scandinavian law degree, preferably a Danish Bar Exam, and relevant experience. You have worked with international contract law, are used to drafting in the English language and prior experience within transportation law will be an advantage. Furthermore, we expect you to be fluent in English and Danish verbally as well as in writing.
As a person you are organized, responsible and can translate a high level of professionalism into commercial solutions. You care about the business contexts and are able to communicate the legal issues to your colleagues outside the legal department in a clear and understandable way.
