Your primary tasks:

  • Planning and performing work in accordance with current standards, calculations in your own job category
  • Day-to-day responsibility for production in accordance with the Chef de Cuisine's or the deputy chef's guidelines
  • Actively helping and training new personnel in the standards and routines of the galley
  • Maintaining the cleaning and hygiene standards specified by the authorities and DFDS Seaways
  • Complying with safety requirements in connection with using machines, tools, and chemicals
  • Cleaning in your own area

Your professional profile:

  • Experience from cruise ships or better restaurants, but we will give weight to your personality and ability, and your interest in cooking food at a high  gastronomic level
  • You can communicate in English in writing and orally

Your personal profile:

  • You have a friendly, flexible attitude and great commitment to your work
  • You work well under pressure and can perform your tasks in a structured manner where quality and deadlines are concerned
  • You enjoy the challenge presented by varying situations and can adapt to them with a positive, enthusiatic attitude
  • You are willing to work in a team

Hours of work:

Hours of work are as a general rule two weeks work followed by two weeks off. You must expect long working hours, 10 - 12 hours a day and sometimes up to 14 hours.

Board and lodging:

You have full board and lodging on DFDS Seaways's ships and you will either have have your own cabin or share with a colleague. Bedclothes, linen and towels are placed at your disposal on the ship. But you are responsible for cleaning your cabin.
